The Power of Coffee: An electric night in NYC
On November 5th, The Power of Coffee ignited NYC, proving what we’ve always believed: coffee’s greatest strength isn’t what it gives us each morning; it’s the connections it sparks and the lives it transforms.
Hosted by Macquarie Group and Sucafina in partnership with the Kahawatu Foundation, this wasn’t just another industry gathering. It was a movement. A moment where passion met purpose, and the coffee community showed what’s possible when we channel our collective energy toward education in Guatemala’s coffee-growing regions.
From the instant guests arrived, the atmosphere crackled with intention. This was a room filled with champions; people ready to amplify the power, to invest in the communities behind every cup, to prove that the most extraordinary brew isn’t made from beans alone, but from generosity, commitment, and care.
The real power of coffee
The evening’s stories reminded us why this work matters. Behind every harvest are families. Behind every family are children with limitless potential. And behind every child’s dream is an opportunity we have the power to provide: education.
The response was nothing short of electric. Paddles rose. Bids climbed. Hearts opened. And when the final tally came in, the room erupted: $170,081 raised for children, teachers, and entire communities in Guatemala’s coffee regions.
But here’s where the power multiplies: every dollar will be matched by our generous host, Macquarie Group, doubling the impact of transformative change.
This is what The Power of Coffee truly means: when we unite with a purpose, when we invest in people, when we choose to be more than just an industry and become a force for good, there’s no limit to what we can achieve.

None of this would be possible without the visionary partners who believed in The Power of Coffee from the start.
