Chaak:
A coffee with impact

Our partner Sucafina, a company long committed to sourcing exceptional Guatemalan coffee with integrity and care, took that commitment one step further. They launched CHAAK, a new blend in their Originals range, and chose us as the beneficiary of a meaningful giving initiative embedded directly into the product.

The coffee itself tells a story worth sharing. Named after Chaak, the Mayan god of rain, this blend draws on the smallholder farms of Jalapa, Chiquimula, and Santa Rosa, regions where the rain has taught local farmers the true meaning of balance: too much or too little can change everything. That’s why this very special coffee is full of life, sweetness, and body. It reflects the land and the people who care for it.

Sucafina designed CHAAK with purpose at its core. The coffee is IMPACT-verified, responsibly sourced, and part of their broader commitment to building opportunity in rural coffee communities. Their decision to link CHAAK’s sales to our programs is a direct expression of that commitment, and a recognition that the children growing up in these communities deserve access to education, health, and better opportunities.

For us, this partnership marks a significant moment. Since the very beginning of our work, we have believed that coffee communities are not just a source of great beans; they are home to children with enormous potential, who need the tools to dream and grow. Having a company like Sucafina stand beside us in that belief and act on it through their own supply chain and product line means the world to us.

The first shipments of CHAAK have already reached the North American market, as a specialty offering traded directly between Sucafina and roasters who share their values, but the vision for CHAAK goes beyond one market or one season. The plan is to expand this coffee worldwide, bringing more roasters into the mission with each harvest, and with each new partnership, deepening the impact on the communities of eastern Guatemala and on the children we serve.
